eBay course paid for itself
I just had to tell you how your eBay online course has helped me. I have wanted to sell items on eBay for a long time, but was unsure how to go about it. I signed up for a lynda.com membership and found your eBay tutorials. I watched them and signed up to start selling on eBay. I've been selling items from around the house, and in two short months I've brought in close to three thousand dollars from selling on eBay. I give lynda.com and your eBay tutorials most of the credit. I've always been hesitant about taking that first step, but lynda.com gave me the confidence to get started and now I'm rolling right along. My wife loves to see the extra money coming in. I love your website. Thank you again.

Improved Photoshop skills
I would like to thank lynda.com for your great tutorials. I have improved my Photoshop skills so much in the past eight months.

Douglas Kirkland Creative Inspirations
I really like videos like the Douglas Kirkland Creative Inspirations piece. Most of the time the courses are about technique, and I tend to get lost in the details. Having a successful pro talk about what he sees, what is fun, and the history (with Lynda) was great.

Painter 11 Essential Training
This one tutorial convinced me to purchase a membership for my son. Mr. John Derry is spectacular. My son and I both did this course, and are both up to snuff on the program. I was able, after completion of this course, to create proficiently. What I have produced with this tutorial was sold, so that says it all for me!

Great customer service
Thank you very much. I didn't expect the customer service to be this great. I know I'll be needing a site like lynda.com again someday, and I'll be sure to use it.

We've viewed over 400 movies
We have formal training in aviation and medicine, so when we purchased Macs in the spring of 2008, we understood we needed consistent quality guidance. We enrolled in the Apple One to One program, and the trainer commented on the online resource, lynda.com. What a find! During the past 12 months we have viewed over 400 movies and garnered a wealth of information. We've recommended your site to many people. Thank you for your excellent Online Training Library®.

Thank you for caring enough to have real live people to help
I just wanted someone there to know what a treat it is to find there
are still a few companies out there—especially related to computer
software of any kind, training or buying—that still care enough to make it possible for someone to speak to a real live person, and actually get someone who is willing—and happy—to help you!!! Special thanks to Ramey in Customer Service, who helped me today.
Not to mention that your classes are hands down - the best!
A very happy former, and soon to be current customer here...

I found what I wanted.
I am a graphic design student, and taking college level classes. Currently I am taking a Dreamweaver class. Even though I own Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium, I had never open the Dreamweaver application before, so it was very hard to understand in class. I decided to search for some online tutorials and tried lynda.com's first couple of free movies to see what I could learn from lynda.com. I found what I wanted.
I subscribed to lynda.com (as a monthly subscriber) a week ago. Now I have decided to buy a year-long suscription (it saves me money). Thank you, lynda.com. Thank you, James Williamson, for your clear and easily understandable online class.

I can still smile about one thing—and that's lynda.com
Dear lynda.com,
As per the notes in the first email I sent you back when, I was saving my trial membership with lynda.com for a time when I could spend 30 days using it, uninterrupted. But life got in the way, and before I knew it, my trial period expired. I sent an email expressing my gratitude for lynda.com, and at the same time shaming myself for not spending more time on it when I had the chance. Customer Service generously extended my trial period by another 30 days, for which I was so grateful. Thank you!
The first couple of weeks went great—I used it alot. Then, my elderly mother in law fell and broke her leg, landing her in the hospital to have surgery. The morning after she came out of surgery, I had an attack of some kind at my office, and needed an ambulance myself. She was upstairs in the hospital, and I was in the ER, suffering from kidney stones. By now, my little kids were quite familiar with the hospital and thought it was pretty cool they knew their way from Granny to mom in less than five minutes. I went home with a surgery date for this past Monday. Two days prior to my surgery (last Saturday), my elderly father called and said "I can't take this any more, I need to get to the hospital." He suffers from a hiatal hernia (above the stomach), which prevents him from eating or drinking without vomiting. He has been in the hospital a week now. This past Monday, I was having my surgery for kidney stones, and he was in another surgical area having a procedure done to see what was wrong with his stomach. My family bounced from his waiting room to mine while we were both in surgery. The camera used to grab my kidney stone actually pushed it back into the kidneys, so my surgery was a failure. My dad's procedure went well, and he is having surgery to remove the hernia tomorrow. I am scheduled for more surgery on Saturday to get rid of the kidney stones. Can you believe my rotten luck? The story of my life.
As I sit here tonight going through as many training videos as I possibly can before the 'clock strikes at midnight' and cancels my trial account, I look back to a month ago when your service department was so gracious to extend my trial due to similar craziness that disallowed me from taking full advantage of the first month. And with all the rotten luck on my plate right now, I can still smile about one thing—and that's lynda.com. I've truly enjoyed the training videos and will recommend them to everyone I know. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. I will be around poking my face in now and then to see what's new and what kind of packages you offer. I hope this is just the beginning of a great working relationship—I'd like to continue using your services for a long time to come.
Thanks for being there!

Dreamweaver CS4 with CSS Essential Training
This was, by far, the best training course I have taken regarding Dreamweaver and CSS. And that includes the college course I took on Dreamweaver and CSS.

What I needed 50 years ago
I have a learning disability that makes conventional learning (classes and books) difficult to impossible for me. Your site and features are what I needed 50 years ago. I can slow down or speed up the spoken dialogue, replay, stop to absorb, or take notes. This is fantastic and you have my eternal gratitude for providing such an incredible opportunity to learn.

I was wowed!
I had to quickly learn InDesign for a project at work. I was overwhelmed when I looked at the program, and was sure I'd never be able to master it in time to complete my project. I found lynda.com and started the tutorials. I was wowed! It was comprehensive, detailed, organized, and more than I could ever have asked for. I finished my project and it looks sensational. Thank you for providing such a wonderful service. I will absolutely be using lynda.com again.

Photoshop CS4 New Features
Excellent, great personality. Wonderful ideas. I am ready to do it. The usefulness of Photoshop is extraordinary. I never considered that an everyday person could do such wonderful things with a photo.

A blanket statement: Extremely pleased
I do not want to restrict these comments to the last movie watched or
even the After Effects section. This is a blanket statement: I am
extremely pleased with the service as a whole, even with the episodes
that have been not as thorough as the others. I can count on one hand
the number of movies that provided no new insight to me and I've
watched 100 or more by now. I was always afraid that the take-away
would not equal the payment. That's why I hesitated in the past. Now I
see it's the payment that's below par in relation to the quality of
information provided. Thank you.

Two thumbs up for Drupal training
This is sooo much better than any of the other Drupal videos that I've viewed. The content is more useful and Geller is not just 'winging it.' He speaks fluently without any 'uhs,' etc. He does not insult the viewer's intelligence by moving too slowly, and yet he has empathy for the viewer—meaning that he does not 'geekify' the material, either. Two thumbs up!

An investment that has already paid off
Just had to let you good folks know that after my 30-day trial period expired, I went through lynda.com withdrawal, and the only thing that could help was a full subscription! I was amazed at the depth and quality of the CS4 training. I was able to get up to speed on Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks in much less time than I thought I'd need. With my full subscription, I'm going to master the whole of the CS4 suite, and I know that using your training materials, I can do it. This is an investment that has already paid off, and I look forward to digging in deeper. You folks rock!

Thank you for your inspiration and tools
I wanted to say thank you so much for starting your business to inspire and empower creative professionals and students. I have been a graphic designer for about 14 years, and I got started doing web design in 2002 using Dreamweaver.
I recently got Adobe Creative Master Suite 4, but never used my Flash CS4. In fact, I'd NEVER opened the package before; never read manual or tutorial. But I needed to make a fashionable web site for my new venue. I'm so glad that I finally signed up. I think you will be proud of of the fact that I only relied on your instructors, and I made it through with your instructional videos.
Although I've lived in the United States for over 20 years, I am from Japan, so English is still my second language. The best benefit of watching your online training is that I can rewind over and over to help myself understand how things must be done. It's the most excellent tool in the entire world. I've been recommending others to get on it.
Great job, Lynda, and your team of excellence!!!

GarageBand '08 Essentials with Garrick Chow
I finished GarageBand '08 Essentials with Garrick Chow and it was great. He does an excellent job of presenting the info clearly, efficiently, and kept it entertaining. I highly recommend him to anybody wishing to learn GarageBand.

Perfectly paced AutoCAD training
Jeff Bartels' AutoCAD lessons are perfectly paced, with just enough information to keep you from getting overwhelmed by the topic and does it with precision. Has he/you considered doing an intermediate/advanced extension of this offering? It would certainly be helpful for those like myself who value this format and ease of accessibility. Great job!

Raising the bar
If we could only study for the bar in the same manner, we'd all pass it!

Tom Geller is my favorite
Your two Drupal courses have been great. I joined lynda.com to learn a couple of CS4 products, but since I am a developer, I really got a lot out of this. Especially the second, more indepth Drupal course. I heard about Drupal a year or so ago and decided that I should really look into it. Your video training is definitely a fast-track approach to learning new technologies. Tom Geller has a great voice and manner, I think he is my favorite instructor so far.

My money is being returned
I am very pleased to give this testimonial about your courses. The teachers' skills are very high. I want to congratulate you, and say that the money I am spending monthly is being returned with the jobs that I am doing better each week. Thank you again!!

Accomplishing what I've dreamed of
Hi Lynda,
I am in South America, and I wanted to tell you that I have up to now enjoyed very much the classes I have taken. I am in my mid 50s and finally can accomplish what I have dreamed of. Thank you.

Truly inspirational
I just found the August lynda.com newsletter swimming in the spam folder of my email. I'll have to fix that so I don't miss anymore. In the newsletter was the notice and link to Duarte Design: Creative Inspirations. This was truly inspirational. I have bookmarked their website and have started reading through it. Thanks, Lynda, for not only great training videos, but for content that stirs up my heart and soul and stokes the fire inside.

An investment that has paid off
After working for months trying to learn web-development and CSS, I started to look at resources other than the typical website tutorials and guides that you find on the Internet.
I am a technical salesperson who was laid off in February of '09. Wanting to keep food on the table and the mortgage paid was my first priority, so when I came across your videos on YouTube I was kind of disappointed that I was going to have to pay to learn what I wanted to know. However, having taken many instructor-led courses in my career on various topics, I know how expensive it can be. lynda.com offers first class video-based instruction at a fraction of the price of conventional training.
I took a chance with a monthly subscription and am I ever glad that I did. My very first course was XHTML and HTML Essential Training with Bill Weinman. This class gave me the building blocks that I needed to really learn to do what I had been trying to do for several months on my own.
Currently working with the Joomla platform, I am quite pleased with how extensible it is. One drawback for me when I first started was Joomla templates, there are plenty of free ones out there, but you can’t get a really polished site unless you know how to customize them. It seemed like there were plenty of resources on the Internet, too, but they were somewhat difficult for me to put into practice. I spent months trying to learn this on my own. Then I took the Joomla! Creating and Editing Custom Templates with Jen Kramer and was immediately able to start using my new skills.
With all of the how-to websites out there and all of the great resources, lynda.com is by far the most helpful one that I have found. Yes, being out of work, I was taking a chance, however this was an investment that has paid off considerably.

Thanks to Chris Orwig
Today I was wondering what would be better for me: to buy Lightroom or to buy Aperture. I went to the lynda.com site and I found such strength Chris Orwig's introduction that I made my choice right at that moment. Bingo! that's the kind of teacher who puts you to work with excitement. Congratulation, your site is making me expand my potential, exponentially. Thanks for all the effort.

Your values should be commended
I called your company when I had a problem with billing. To be honest with you, I was very defensive. I felt I had been charged without my permission. You know. Read the fine print! It was my fault because like many others we never do. I spoke with Maria in Customer Service. She calmly listened to me complain and never was defensive.
I have never, NEVER felt so taking care of even though ultimately it was my fault. She was still willing to help me any way she could. Such a kind heart, voice and attitude. I didn't have to send this, but in a world where all that seems to matter is what's in it for me, or how much money can I make, I feel that such a company with values should be commended. It is obvious that you care about your customers.
And Maria, you have character and integrity we should all desire and should practice. I've never commented on a company or sent an email to a company telling them what a great job they are doing, but in this case I had to!!!!
Great job, lynda.com. And, oh yeah, your teachings rock!!!!!!

I loved that I learned new stuff right away. Yes, I could poke around and get things done but really, use the "w" to move back and forth between preview and normal. Please. I can't wait for more training!
